WELCOME TO CANADIAN MODEL LOCOMOTIVE WORKS

Finally I have broadband! I have been working out of Abu Dhabi in the UAE for some time now and it is a great place.  However, until yesterday I only had a "Dial Up" connection in the apartment! (Does anyone remember what that was like?) updates will now be more regular and I apologize for the delays.                                               SD40-2W Page

Our first release was the GP9RM in a resin kit form (found below)  Now it is available in three flavours.  The GP9RM was once the powerhouse of Canadian National.  Large numbers of GP7 and GP9 locos were purchased for road freight duties throughout the CN network.  Now found in switching and local service, the GP9RM is a distinctly Canadian prototype, now available, with prototypical accuracy from CMLW.

  • The CMLW GP9RM Resin Kit
  • The GP9RM is the first of many high quality kits to be released by CMLW.

  • The GP9RM Resin Kit with Modified LL Chassis
  • This is the same high quality resin kit offered above with a modified LL chassis included.
  • The Full Meal Deal
  • For all those out there that are pressed for time, here is the unit for you!  It includes the kit, and chassis, assembled and painted. Decals are not applied to allow for the largest number of prototype configurations.

  • GMDD GP38-2W, GP40-2W & GP40-2LW
  • These little beasties can be found all over the Canadian National as yard switchers and additional road power. Many units have found their way onto regional and short-line railways as CN divests these four axle workhorses.  Now they will be available to switch your loads and make up the extra horsepower on that highball intermodal on your layout.  We are taking reservations now for the GP40-2W, GP40-2LW and the GP38-2W.
  • GMDD SD40-2W The icon of Canadian National
  • This beast, for most of us, defines the Canadian National.  The SD40-2W was revolutionary in it's time, and it's ubiquitousness makes it a "Must Have" for the serious modern modeler of the CNR.
  • BC Rail SD40-2
  • Found throughout the BC Rail system this 3000 horsepower GMD product was the mainstay of the fleet for years.  Now it can be the mainstay of your fleet!
  • Canadian Pacific Sd40-2
  • Ordered in the hundreds, this 3000 horsepower locomotive could be seen everywhere on CP's system, and in all it's liveries.  Now you can enjoy these units, with their nuances in a one piece shell kit!
  • GMDD SD50F - Covered Wagons Anyone?
  • Purchased to replace earlier, less powerful locomotives, these units are distinctive with their full cowl, EMD version of the "Draper Taper".
  • GMDD SD60F Rolling Thunder
  • Big and powerful describes these behemoths on rails.  Found throughout Canada and the United States, these units, like their sisters the SD50F units are distinctive for their full cowl car bodies.
  • The GE Dash 8 - A Distinctly Canadian Powerhouse
  • Built by GE as a counter to the Sd50F and SD60F, these full cowl units will be the pride of your locomotive roster!
  • The Bombardier / MLW HR-616
  • Built as a replacement for the MLW C630M and M636, these Draper Taper, full cowl, road diesels were the last of the North American freight diesels to be built by MLW / Bombardier.  Advanced Reservation Required
  • MLW C630M
  • Built by MLW in Montreal, the C630M was a six axle, 3000 horsepower road freight diesel emlpoyed on both Canadian National and Canadian Pacifis.  Also utilized by many regional and shortline services across the country.  Advanced Reservation Required
  • MLW M636 & M640
  • Built by MLW in Montreal, the M636 was a massive and powerful 3600 horsepower locomotive.  Used by CN, CP, BC Rail, and numerous regional and short-line railroads across Canada.  Advanced Reservation Required
  • RS23
  • This powerful little switching engine was a frequent site in Canadian Pacific's yards. Advanced Reservation Required
