WELCOME TO CANADIAN MODEL LOCOMOTIVE WORKS
Finally I have broadband! I have been working out
of Abu Dhabi in the UAE for some time now and it is a great place.
However, until yesterday I only had a "Dial Up" connection in the apartment!
(Does anyone remember what that was like?) updates will now be more regular
and I apologize for the delays.

CRS-20 (Shopped and re-powered RS-18)
MLW RS-18’s were purchased new by the PGE between 1956-1966. In 1990, a refit program saw these locomotives receive new Caterpillar 2000 HP engines, and the new designation CRS-20. Because of the Caterpillar engine, the rear of the locomotive received a new radiator housing. Unit 609 would be the first to receive the new prime mover, and its own style of a radiator housing. All subsequent CRS-20’s received the same style of rear radiator housing.
RS-18’s 618 and 625 were wrecked and retired prior to the Cat rebuild. Unit 601-629 received the modern Red/White/Blue paint scheme. Unit 630, the last to get rebuilt, received the Phantom Blue paint scheme. Since CN’s takeover of the railway in 2004, the CRS-20’s have slowly been retired. To date, only 13 remain on the roster. They typically have been seen in Williams Lake, Quesnel, Prince George and on the line north of Prince George. We are seeking reservations on these units. Should there prove enough interest in these unique and interesting locomotives, we will produce them. Please respond to info@cmlw.ca if you would be interested in owning one of these unique models in HO or N scale. Please leave your name, e-mail and mailing address as well as the scale, and number, of units you would like to own. We will require a deposit only once the unit enters pre-production. It requires about 60 units to make a project viable. We will keep a running tally on the website so you can see how close you are to the ultimate goal, in each scale! PricingTo be determined
